About

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the group of Prof. Andrew I. Cooper at the University of Liverpool. My research lies at the interface of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering: I design self-assembled architectures — metal–organic cages and porous molecular crystals — whose confined spaces and dynamic structures give rise to function, from host–guest recognition and allosteric regulation to photocatalysis.

I received my B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Dalian University of Technology and my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University under the supervision of Prof. Cheng-Yong Su, where I continued as a postdoctoral researcher. There, my work centred on functional metal–organic cages built from M(ImPhen)3 metalloligands — their redox activity, stereochemical control and cage-confined catalysis. In Liverpool, I am exploring ionic clusters as building units for crystalline porous organic salts.

    Tools

Software I develop for everyday lab work and desktop life. Free and open source.

    xStack PXRD Viewer

    v1.6 · Windows 10/11 (64-bit) · MIT License

A desktop app for viewing, stacking and comparing powder X-ray diffraction patterns — from raw instrument files to publication-ready figures in a few clicks.

xStack main window with three stacked PXRD patterns, file browser and display settings
    Main window (synthetic example data).
    • Batch import by drag & drop — two-column text (.xy, .xye, .dat, .csv …), Bruker / Rigaku .raw and .xrdml.
    • Stacked or overlay plots with per-curve scale, offset, colour and labels; live normalisation to the visible 2θ range.
    • Processing — Savitzky–Golay, moving-average and Gaussian smoothing, arPLS background subtraction, with live preview.
    • Peak analysis — positions, d-spacings, FWHM and Scherrer crystallite-size estimates.
    • Export SVG / PNG / CSV or copy straight to the clipboard; save editable .pxrdproj sessions.
    • Undo up to 30 steps; processing never overwrites your source files.

The installer needs no admin rights. Builds are not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm (“More info → Run anyway”).

    Edgelet Edge-docked app launcher

    v0.2.0 · Windows 10/11 · MIT License

A small drawer of your favourite apps, files and folders tucked into the edge of the screen — touch the edge or press a hotkey and it slides out; launch something and it hides again.

Edgelet panel docked to the right screen edge with app and folder tiles Edgelet icon picker with built-in icons Edgelet in the narrow 1×6 strip layout
Panel, icon picker and strip layout. The interface is currently in Chinese.
    • Edge docking — drag it anywhere and it snaps to the nearest edge, leaving only a thin handle when hidden; multi-monitor aware.
    • Open it your way — hover the edge, press Alt+`, or click the tray icon.
    • Drag & drop apps, shortcuts, files or folders onto the panel; native 256 px icons, custom names and 50 built-in icons.
    • Layouts from a 1×6 strip to a 4×6 grid, three icon sizes, optional labels; follows the system light / dark theme.
    • Memos with dates and reminders — natural phrases such as 明天 or 周五下午3点 set the due time automatically.
    • Keyboard — arrows to move, Enter to open, F2 to rename, Esc to hide.
